GANN, JACQUELINE S. - of Strawberry Plains, departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2003, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a faithful charter member of Holston Memorial Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father and mother, Jack and Ruby Smith of Strawberry Plains. Survived by husband, Dennis Gann, Sr. of Strawberry Plains son and daughter-in-law, Denny and Robin Gann of New Market. She will be sorely missed by her grandson, Mason. Survived also by sisters and brothers-in-law, Everett and Shirley Stansberry and Frank and Sue Elmore of Strawberry Plains special sister-in-law, Helen Hodges of Kodak, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Monday, October 13, at Holston Memorial Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services following at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m., Strawberry Plains Cemetery with Reverends Rex Eledge and Arthur Pedigo officiating. In lieu of flowers, Jacqueline requested memorial donations be made to Holston Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 180, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871, in memory of her. The family wants to thank the nursing staff on the third floor at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassion and sincere care given to Jacqueline while she was there, and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cancer Care of East Tennessee in the St. Mary's Professional Building.
