SMITH, RUBY E. - 78, of Strawberry Plains, passed away 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City following an extended illness. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Jack" Smith; sister, Esther Pilant; brother, John Davis; nephew, Billy Smith. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws, Shirley and Everette Stansberry, Jackie and Dennis Gann, and Sue and Frank Elmore, all of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Jason, Susie and Mitchell Elmore, Denny Gann, Jamie Howard, and Kristy Stansberry; four great grandchildren; sister, Martha (Crick) Smith of Strawberry Plains; niece, Betty Boling; nephews, Billy Pilant and Johnny Davis, both of Strawberry Plains. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, November 26, 1999 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. Paul Moore and Rev. Rex Eledge officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning, November 27, 1999 at Strawberry Plains Cemetery for an 11 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening prior to services at the funeral home. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760.
