GEORGE ENOCH RINES, age 86, of Knoxville, TN and formerly of Talbott, TN passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 29, 1923 in Talbott, TN. He was a lifelong member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Papaw George touched many lives and had a passion for fishing. During World War II he served in the 32nd Armored Regiment 3rd Armored Division. He retired after 42 years as a Sprinkler Fitter Local #669. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Rines; sisters, Annie Rines, Charlotte Rodgers and Mary Shaver; brothers, King and Marshall Rines. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Esther Clarkson Rines; children, Steve (Debbie) Rines, Pam (Henry) Bogle and Tony (Krista) Rines; grandchildren, Greg (Christina) Rines, Christy (Scott) Wells, Doug Bogle, Cody, Weston, Riley and Tate Rines; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Dylan and Brody; sister, Laura Gregory; brothers, Robert and Lester Rines. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. R. J. Seal officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lebanon Baptist Church, 7925 Greenbriar Road, Talbott, TN 37877.
