Tucker, Joyce Elizabeth, born October 12, 1928, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, July 23, 2010. She was a lifelong member of South Knoxville Church of God. Joyce retired from the University of Tennessee in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Bud" Tucker; parents, H.C. and Viola Lundy; sisters: Mildred Lemons, Dorothy French, Jeanette "Sally" Canada, Brenda Stair, and brother, Holbert "Sonny" Lundy. Joyce is survived by her sister, Gleneva and husband, James Tucker; son, James "Jimmy" L. Tucker, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Linda; daughter, Mary Johnson; daughter Sharon and son-in-law, Scott Clabo; grandsons: James L. Tucker III and wife Shannon; Mark Tucker and wife, Jana; Matthew Teeters and wife, Joann; Chris Johnson; Patrick Johnson and wife, Sandra; granddaughter, Amy Humphrey; step-granddaughters: Amy Arwood and husband, John; and Jennifer Parton; 13 great-grandchildren: Ryan and Ben Tucker; Sara Clark; Jaylan, Jaden and Katie Teeters; Sarah and Emily Humphrey; Kinsey Cansler; Kelsey McCarter and husband, Justin; and Michaela and Gabriel Parton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Joyce enjoyed shopping, visiting nursing homes with her special friends Gail Long and Alma "Sunshine" Stallion and was always ready to go anywhere when someone said, "Let's go." The family wishes to express their thanks to the personnel at Asbury Place for their loving care of our mother and to the ladies of South Knoxville Church of God for their loving support, cards, visits, and prayers. Joyce coveted their prayers. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at South Knoxville Church of God on Magazine Road with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 AM for interment services. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mark Tucker, Matthew Teeters, Chris Johnson, Patrick Johnson, John Arwood, and Justin McCarter. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
