OWENBY, EMERSON (MICK) - age 79, of Knoxville, passed away, at UT Hospital, December 26, 2008 after a short illness. He was a member of Texas Valley Baptist Church and an avid bowler for many years and recently retired from Strike and Spare Western Bowling Lanes. He is preceded in death by daughter, Sherry Owenby; parents, Hugh and Cecil; brothers, Luther and Pepsi; sisters, Lillian, Agnes and Claudia. Survived by wife, Sandra (Coffey) Owenby; daughter, Mickie (Owenby) Moorefield and husband Chip; grandsons, Charlie, Lucas Moorefield and Nicholas McPherson; special great granddaughter, Lily Rose McPherson; step children, Kim Fennell, Greg, Chris Kerr and wife Deborah; sisters, Eva, Deloris, Beulah, Frances, Lola and Vicki; brothers, Burble, Carson and Johnny. Service, 8:00 p.m., Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City, officiated by his nephew Rev. Steve Owenby. Family and friends will meet, 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, Texas Valley Baptist Church Cemetery for interment at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: brothers, Burble Owenby, Carson Owenby, Johnny Owenby, grandsons, Charlie Moorefield, Lucas Moorefield and Nicholas McPherson. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Hemophilia Association. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City. www.mynattfh.com
