Claudia won her battle with cancer as a host of Heavenly Angels came and delivered her into the arms of Jesus. She was a member of Texas Valley Baptist Church where she was born again on a Sunday morning in 1959. Claudia was a devoted, loving and caring sister whom anyone would have loved to have and we thank God for letting her be our sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Whaley parents, Mr. And Mrs. Hugh Owenby brothers, Luther and R.C. Owenby and one sister, Agnes O. Cooper. She is survived by brothers, Mick, Burble and Carson Owenby of Knoxville and Johnny Owenby of Florida sisters, Eva Harris of Florida, Deloris Kitts, Beulah Beason, Frances McCurry and Lola Smith, all of Knoxville and Vickie Baker of Pigeon Forge, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and two very special little girls, Rachel and Holly White. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Owenby, Rev. Curtis Tindell and Rev. Robert Watkins officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home and proceed to Texas Valley Cemetery for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers will be Mick, Burble, Carson and Johnny Owenby, Ben McCurry and Doug Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Claudia's nephews.
