Raymond Leon Effler, age 72, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at UT Medical Center. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He was a generous soul always willing to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Bessie Stephensen Effler and sister, JoAnn Shuler. He is survived by his wife, Julia Effler; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Effler and Scott Franklin; granddaughter, Kate Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Betty Effler, Mayford and Ruby Effler, and Lynn and Susan Effler; brother-in-law, Vance Shuler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tony Taylor officiating. Family and friends will gather 1:00 PM Friday at Magnolia Cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
