EFFLER, WADE R. - age 86, of Townsend, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, November 22, 1999, at Ft. Sanders Park West Hospital. He was a member of Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from ALCOA and was a member of their 25 Year Club. He was a member of the CCC's at Tremont, worked in Cades Cove with the Natural History Association after retirement from ALCOA. Preceded in death by wife, Bessie M. Stephenson Effler; brothers, Boyd, Clark, and Dewey Effler; sister, Ellen Effler; parents, Jerry and Della Effler. Survivors: children, Milton and wife, Betty Effler of Knoxville, Joann and husband, Vance Shuler of Townsend, Leon and wife, Julia Effler of Rockford, Mayford and wife, Ruby Effler of Sevierville, Lynn and wife, Susan Effler of Louisville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Hoyle Effler and Claude Effler, both of Maryville and Bart Effler of Indiana; sister, Viola Lequire of Townsend. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James "Jim" Cooper and Elder J.B. Huskey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
