Nell Waide, 85, of Clovis, NM, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday April 11, 2011, at Retirement Ranch. She was born on August 8, 1925, in Tennessee to Henderson and Bergie (Ownby) Ogle.
At a very young age her mother passed away and Nell was adopted by her mother's sister and her husband, Minerva and Giles Cogdill. Nell was baptized at a young age and had a very close relationship with God her entire life. She married Clay Waide December 8, 1941. Together they raised 3 sons, Douglas (Sue) Waide, Donald Waide, and Doyle (Linda) Waide. Nell owned and operated a beauty salon for many years in Clayton, NM. She also helped her husband with his business Waide Electric in Clayton, NM. After she retired, she worked as an education assistant for Clovis Municipal Schools for 10 years.
Nell is predeceased by her husband, Clay; her son, Donnie; her parents, Henderson Ogle, Bergie Ownby Ogle, Minerva Ownby Cogdill, and Giles Cogdill, and her brothers, Ray Ogle, Fred Ogle, Frank Ogle, and Woody.
She is survived by her sons, Doug (Sue) Waide, Doyle (Linda) Waide; her sisters, Edith Spradlin and Irene Wells; her grandchildren, Kimberly Ogle, Andy Waide, Amanda Waide, Stephanie Reeser, Stacey Esquibel, Corey Waide, Alice Penner, Lisa Calderon, and Tommy Cunningham; her great granddaughter, Becky Reeser, as well as numerous other great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at the cemetery in Clayton, NM, on Monday April 18, 2011, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Baptist Children's Home P.O. Box 629 Portales, NM 88130.
