Riggs, Bettye - age 84, quietly slipped into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, on June 10th, 2012. She was a long time member of Meridian Baptist Church, a member of Young at Heart Senior Choir, Ruth Sunday School class, L.L.L. (senior adults) she volunteered at Baptist Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Mary Blount Chapter 133. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arless Riggs; son, Sean Riggs; parents, Homer & Fanny Paul; sister, Lynda Avery; niece, Patricia Peters; and nephew, Paul Peters. She is survived by daughter, Cissy (Gary) Rehberg; grandchildren, Brandon Riggs, Vanessa Satterfield and Zack Satterfield; sister, Lois (Al) Parko; nieces, Pam (Ronnie) Johnson and Lisa (Roy) Walter and an abundance of other family members. A special thanks to those who made the transition possible. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13th from 5-9pm at Highland South Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held Thursday, June 14th at 10am with Dana Fachman officiating. Entombment will immediately follow.
