WINSTON-SALEM - Lillian Owen Wright, 93, a 14 year resident of Arbor Acres (Triad United Methodist Home), died there Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2001. She was born in Haywood County on Jan. 18, 1907, to William Owen and Callie Howell Owen. Mrs. Wright was a longtime member of Mills River United Methodist Church in Henderson County. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Wright and Thomas Wright, and her husband, Berkeley D. Wright, who died in 1985. Surviving is her son, Charles Wright and wife Audrey of Greensboro, and two granddaughters, Laura Wright of Northampton, Mass., and Lee Ann Wright of Boone. The graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mills River United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Jock P. Ollis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mills River United Methodist Church, 131 Old Turnpike Road, Horse Shoe, NC 28742. Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Funeral Home is serving the Wright family.
