FORD, COL. (RET.) CLIFFORD HAUN - age 91, formerly of Fountain City, TN passed away March 14, 2009 at Veterans Community Center in Reno, NV after a length illness. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. He graduated from Central High School in 1936 and University of Tennessee in 1943. He served 31 years as a U.S. Army officer. In addition to being a member of the 103rd Infantry Division during World War II, Col. Ford also served in campaigns in Africa, Europe, The Middle East, Korea and Vietnam. He was foreman of the jury at the court martial of Lt. Calley. He retired in 1974. An avid reader and lover of books, he was a long time member of the Zane Grey Society. Preceded in death by his parents, Luster Roy Ford and Maude Mink Ford; brother, L.R. Ford, Jr. and first wife, Mary Louise Miller Ford. Survived by his wife, Lolita (Jinky) Cervas Ford, two step-sons, Glenn and wife Elle and Mark; sister, Ruth Wallace and several nieces and nephews.
