ADAMS, DOVIE LUCILLE BLACKBURN - age 63, of Knoxville, passed away Monday evening, June 28, 1999 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. She was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert E. (Bob) Adams, USAF, Master Sgt. (Retired). Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Stephen Sartin of Knoxville, Diane and Bobby Whitaker of New Market, Donna and Rick Cooper of Sevierville, Janice and Chris Watkin of Friendsville; sisters, Elora LaRue and Alma Ownby, both of Knoxville; grandchildren, David Spiva, Jr., Sarah, Adam and Christy Sartin, Bobby, Jr. (B.J.) and Stacy Whitaker, Laura Cooper Yardley and husband, Aaron, Emily and Grady Cooper, Megan and Bryce Watkin; many devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is the daughter of the late Josiah and Ada (Weaver) Blackburn. She is preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Elvin and Oran Blackburn and by sisters, Irene Branum and Evelyn Blackburn. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. John Thomerson, Rev. Danna Boatman and Rev. Paul Byrd officiating. Interment will be at Rocky Hill Church Cemetery following the funeral. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
