Thelma Houston Forster to celebrate 88th birthday with reception
Thelma Houston Forster, of Maryville, will celebrate her 88th birthday from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
She requests no gifts, but cards are welcome.
Mrs. Forster was born Feb. 20, 1922 in Monroe County to Victor Sr. and Josephine Rodgers Houston.
Her family includes husband LeRoy Forster and children Irene and husband Lloyd Jones, Phyllis Forster and the late Phillip Forster, Jerry and wife Lovella Forster, all of Maryville, David and wife Mary, of Knoxville, and Dwight and wife Dottie Forster. She has six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two step-grandsons, three step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Forster is a housewife.
She is a member of Springview Baptist Church and a member of Carpenters FCE Club.

Thelma Forster, age 89, of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 23, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Forster was a member of Springview Baptist Church and a member of Carpenter’s FCE Club. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy H. “Huppie” Forster; son, Phillip Forster; parents, Victor and Josephine Rogers Houston; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Lloyd Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Lovella Forster, Dwight and Dottie Forster of Maryville, David and Mary Forster of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Forster; sister, Lorene and Jim Saxton of Murfeesboro; special nieces, Willadean and Glenn Baumgardner and Janice and Jerry Whitehead; special cousin, Fred and Pat Rogers; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blount Memorial Hospice, 1095 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37804. Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Monday, December 26, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ben Ward and Rev. Toby Downey officiating. Interment service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Carpenter’s Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery.
