Betty Katherine Bingham, 89, of Smyrna, died Friday morning at A. G. Rhodes Home in Marietta. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Smyrna on Monday at 1:00 PM with Dr. Steve Kimmel, officiating. The body will lie instate from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church. Interment will be at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Originally from Maryville, Tennessee, Betty and husband, Owen moved to Smyrna in the early 1950's where Owen was employed by Lockheed. A transfer by Lockheed moved the family to Midwest City, Oklahoma where they resided for six years, before returning to Smyrna. Betty was employed by Musick's Prescription Center for forty years retiring in 2002. Always involved in her community, Betty was a member of ELM and was very active in the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, where she sang in the Senior Choir and was a member of the Travel Club. She is survived by three children, Norman Bingham of Marietta, Steve Bingham of Bradenton, Florida, Sue Terry of Smyrna; one brother, Julius Nicely; one sister, Phyllis Coulter, both of Maryville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Sunday at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.
