John W. Poplin, age 59, of Maryville, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Jo Poplin; mother and step-father, Jean and John McCollum; father, Billy Joe Poplin; and uncles, Terry and Billy Joe, Jr. Poplin. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Branden Carter and Selena Gribble; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Dee Cable; several grandchildren; sisters, Tammy Shoemaker and Brenda White; brother, Terry Stinnett; special nieces and nephews, Ginger Thatcher, Todd Shoemaker, Kendal Stinnett, Clint Kagley, Christi Bradley, and Carson Davenport; and special friends, Karen and Jimmy Walker, Stanley and Patty Kagley, and Phyllis Kagley. Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Terry Wells officiating. Family and friends will gather 2:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2013, at Mt. View Church of Christ Cemetery (Christy Hill) for the interment. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
