Witt, Gordon Dale – age 73 of Strawberry Plains passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009. Member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by parents, Paul T. and Neta McDannel Witt; sisters, Marjorie Smart, Sandra Yalkut. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Evelyn Pitner Witt; daughter, Dana Scholl and husband Gary; son, Randy Witt and wife Joy; grandchildren, Samuel and Miranda Witt and Witt Scholl; sister, Joan Harte; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 12:45 PM Monday, March 2, 2009, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Dennis Maxey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Gordon to the Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 3235 Fairview Lane, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871 or St. Mary’s Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
