KNIGHT, JERRY WAYNE "KW-1" - 63, U.S. Army Ret. Staff Sgt. of Fayetteville,, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Jerry was born on October 15, 1945, to the late George Ralph Knight and Matty Shooks Knight, in Knox County, TN. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of honorable service to his country and was the proud owner of Knights Electronics for over 25 years. Jerry is survived by his wife, Wanda Knight; son, Randy Knight and his wife Beverly, of North Port, Florida; daughter Linda Knight Mata, and her husband Douglas, of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Tailor Brandt, Alexis Brandt, Jessica Mata, Jordan Mata, and Randy Schwartzbauer; brothers Ralph Knight, Steve Knight, Larry Knight, all of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Florence Vance, of Knoxville, TN, and Pat Maynard, of Nashville, TN. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Fortner officiating. Entombment to follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
