Mr. Charlie Holt, Jr., age 77, of Parrottsville, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
He attended Bridgeport Baptist Church.
He served in the United States Army for two and one-half years.
He was preceded in death by his son Russell Holt, grandson Danny Holt, parents Charlie and Nora Holt, Sr., nephew Michael Smith, and sisters-in-law Kay Black and Billie Smith.
He is survived by his wife Frances Holt of Newport; granddaughter Ashley Holt and great-grandson Daniel Holt, both of Mooresville, NC; sister Irene Hall of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law Susie and Hendel Fox of Taylorsville, NC; brother Jimmy Holt of Paint Rock, NC; daughters-in-law Barbara Jenkins of Newport and Brenda Holt of Mooresville, NC; brothers-in-law Tommy Smith of Bybee and Jimmy Black of Del Rio.
Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hal Kirk and Pastor Tim Carson officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Jonestown Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. interment service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the services.
