Christa R. Beaton, 60, of the 400 block of Folley Road, died May 8, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Ratibor, Germany, she was the widow of Bobby E. Beaton. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Rudski. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a loving companion, Waverly White of Suffolk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita B. and Martin H. McCarter of Suffolk and Corinna B. and Aaron P. Ritter of Corapeake, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Peggy L. Beaton of Deridder, La.; two granddaughters, Shannon Wadford and Heather McCarter of Suffolk; a grandson, Chase McCarter of Suffolk; and three sisters, Renate Genz of Frankfurt, Germany, Eva Genstbrin of Wurzburg, Germany, and Roswetha Eisenmamm of Ulm, Germany.
A graveside will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suffolk by the Rev. Bill Thomas. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Harrell Funeral Home and other times at 381 Turlington Road, home of Waverly White. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 902 Pennsylvania Ave., Suffolk VA 23434.
