Maryville, Tennessee
Rev. Billy R. Reed, age 81 of Maryville went to be with his heavenly Father and two of his precious daughters that were waiting for him. The Rev. Reed was a faithful minister of the Lord for over 50 years, pastoring nine churches and having the honor of serving two of them twice in Blount, Knox and Loudon counties. He held numerous revivals all over east Tennessee and North Carolina. Rev. Reed also worked and retired from ALCOA and was a member of the 30 year club. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Susan Marie Davis and Gail Royce Carter; parents, B.A. & Emma Reed; brothers, Melvin, Andrew, Benjamin and Albert Reed. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 61 years, Joyce L. Reed; his most loving daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Rev. Mike Seagle; son-in-law, Jeff Davis; the apple of his eye, his granddaughters, Meagan Davis of Friendsville and Racheal Byrd of Maryville; brother, James Reed of Knoxville; brother & sister-in-law, Donald & Margaret Reed of Maryville, Fred Quinton & Sharon Evans of Maryville; sister, Wanda Potter of Louisville; sister & brother-in-law, Dana & Jerry Stooksberry of Maryville, Mary & Tom McMillan of Louisville; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service at 7:00pm with Preacher Mike Seagle officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00am Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Zions Chapel Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, Blount County South Camp, PO Box 4035, Maryville, TN 37802-4035.
