Carl was retired from the US Post Office and a member of West Hills Baptist Church. His pride and joy was his family, including his only child Jerry Nicely and wife Judy, of Chattanooga; grandsons: Michael Nicely and wife Holly, of Augusta, GA, Jeff Nicely and wife Wendy of Soddy Daisy, and Dr Jason Nicely and wife Kate, of Chattanooga; great-granddaughter, Isabella Nicely, of Chattanooga. Preceded in death by wife, Rosella; his parents, Daniel Rector and Mary Ann Nicely; brothers, Clarence, Claude, and Clyde Nicely and sisters, Minnie Cabbage, Lola Davis, Cleo Walker, Pearl Bailey, and Ethel Cobble. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, his wife's family, and many friends. Family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Wednesday, from 5pm until the 7pm service, Reverends Richard Nicely and D.R. Cabbage officiating.
