Galvesta McKinney Gillespie Carlisle, 78, of 22 Woodlawn Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002. Wife of William B. Carlisle, she was born in Greenville, a daughter of the late Robert Samuel Dewey McKinney and Eloise Dempsey. Mrs. Carlisle retired from Monaghan Mill and was a member of Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Leo Raymond Gillespie Jr. and Steven Gillespie, of Washington State a daughter, Alyce Schmolitz, of Baltimore, Md. sisters, Russell Leola Bridges and Hazel Kathleen Stover, both of Greenville grandchildren, Joshua Schmolitz, Galvesta Schmolitz, Samantha Schmolitz and Susan Schmolitz, and Raymond Gillespie III, Christopher Gillespie, Amanda Gillespie and Angela Gillespie and great-grandchildren, Joshua Schmolitz Jr. and Cayla Schmolitz. She was predeceased by a brother, Randolf McKinney. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, at Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy. Visitation will be prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family is at 10 Mars Hills St., Greenville.
