PERT, SARAH REYNOLDS - 94, of Knoxville, Tennessee entered eternal life on January 30, 2009, the eve of her 95th birthday. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Earl Rainwater, Knoxville and Sally and David Emerson, Winter Garden, FL; six grandchildren: Sheri Hagood (Derwin), Knoxville, Susan (Sissie) Hargreaves (Glenn), Franklin, TN, Lisa Atwood, Fairview, TN, Anne Michele Green, Melbourne, FL, Patricia Emerson, Fairview TN, and James Emerson, Winter Garden, FL; and ten great-grandchildren: Haley, Taylor, Hannah, and Holly Hagood, Knoxville; Megan and Matt Hargreaves, Franklin, TN; Tiffany Turner, Murfreesboro, TN; Elizabeth Villars, Katie and Joey Bellinger, Melbourne, FL; and two great-great-grandchildren, Nicole Turner, Murfreesboro, TN; and Ava Rose Rook, Melbourne, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sallie Sue and Robert Reynolds; brother, Robert J. Reynolds; husband, James B. Pert; an infant daughter; and an infant grandson, James Wiley Rainwater. She was born January 31, 1914 in Wilkes County, GA. She attended Georgia State Teachers College and lived in the Athens, Georgia area for 33 years. She and her husband moved to Nashville, TN in 1947 where he was vice president of Hanna Manufacturing Company and owner of G-C-P Manufacturing Company, and she was a secretary at both businesses. Mrs. Pert moved to Knoxville in 1980 where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and later of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was active in Chapter 89 United Daughters of Confederacy, Ossoli Circle, Friendship Club, and CONTACT of Knoxville. The family is grateful to her devoted caregivers, Barbara Hall and Carolyn Williams. The family appreciated the loving care she received at Shannondale Assisted Living Center the past two years. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 1, in the Asbury Chapel of Cokesbury United Methodist Church in the Cokesbury Center. The family will receive friends following the service. The service will be officiated by Rev. Micah Nicolaus.
