Sims, 82, of Modesto died Thursday at Modesto Convalescent Hospital. Mr. Sims was a native of Seminole, Okla. He lived in Modesto 56 years. He was a forklift operator for Tillie Lewis cannery 30 years. He was a member of the Teamsters union. He is survived by his wife, Jannie Sims of Modesto; stepchildren, Bob Williams of Sonora, Donna Jones of Escalon, Norma Jones of Las Cruces, N.M., Roy Allen of Modesto and Shirley Waymire of Squaw Valley; and 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.
