Nichols, Mary Frances, age 83, passed away of complications from pneumonia early Sunday morning, January 20, 2008, at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, Maryland with her daughters at her bedside. She is the daughter of the late Joseph Ellis and Ruth Garner of Knoxville, TN. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Joseph Ellis Garner, Jr. Survivors She was the loving mother of Deborah Nichols of North Potomac, MD and Connie and her husband Dennis Howard of Knoxville, TN; and the devoted grandmother of Chris Howard and wife Alisa and great-grandsons Jacob and Matthew Howard of Mt. Juliet, TN. She also leaves her dear brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Mona Garner of Seymour, TN; and sister-in-law Pauline Garner. She will be sadly missed by her niece and nephews and her friends and other family members. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers. Service Family will receive friends in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 8:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at the family gravesite at Ellijoy Cemetery in Blount County at 1:00 PM Wednesday for interment services. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
