Joshua Todd Gregg, age 19 formerly of Newport passed away January 1, 2009 in Kansas City MO. as a result of an automobile accident. Joshua was an organ donor and five people have already received a gift of life. He is survived by his father, Brent Gregg of Newport and mother, Karen Ellison of Warrensburg, MO, sisters, Nikki Gregg of Newport and Heather Gregg of Independence, MO, grandparents, Jewel Ellison of Newport, Lester and Carolyn Gregg of Newport. Per Joshua’s request he was cremated and a visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2009 from 6:00 till 8:00 at the Manes Funeral Home.

Former Cocke County resident dies in Missouri crash
A former Cocke County resident died New Year's Day in a single-vehicle accident in Missouri.
Joshua Todd Gregg, 20, of Warrensburg, Mo., formerly of Cocke County, was reportedly the passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet that overturned in Johnson County.
The driver of the vehicle, Spencer L. Williams, 25, also of Warrensburg, reportedly lost control in a curve and overcorrected. The vehicle re-entered the roadway, traveled off the right side of the road and then overturned, striking a fence and pole.
Gregg was reportedly ejected from the vehicle. He was Lifeflighted to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly only suffered minor injuries in the accident. Charges are pending, according to investigators.
According to his obituary, Gregg was an organ donor and five people have received a gift of life.
A visitation for Gregg will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home in Newport.
