Gerald Scott Bennett, age 69 of Kodak, formerly of Erwin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 13, 2009 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was of the Baptist faith and most recently attended Mountain View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father I.M. Bennett, infant son Gerald Scott Bennett, Jr., father-in-law Ray Shular, and brother-in-law Tommy Shular.
Survivors include his:
Loving wife and best friend: Debbie Jayne Bennett
Daughters and sons-in-law: Marsha and Kevin Sparks, April and Larry Snellings
Grandsons: Wesley and Jay Sparks, Spencer and Ethan Snellings
Mother: Pansy Bennett
Sister and brother-in-law: Doris and Bill Hensley
Several nieces and nephews
Mother-in-law: Beatrice Shular
Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: W. C. Shular, Stella Byrd, Mary Lee, Ray Shular, Jr., Betty Shular, Bonnie Balogh, Martha Shular, David Shular, Randy Shular, Roger Shular

Gerald will be sadly missed by his special little dog, Maggie.
