Robert "Bob" Dunkin, 47, of Dunlap, died Wednesday night, Aug. 8, 2001, in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Dunkin was the manager of C & D Power Systems for 10 years. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, the Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department and the Chattanooga Choo Choo Chorus. Mr. Dunkin is survived by his wife, Barbara Dunkin, sister of Bill Moehl of Oak Ridge; two sons, Patrick Dunkin and Richard Dunkin, both of Dunlap; his mother, Bernice Dunkin of Bristol, Va.; his brother, retired U.S. Navy Capt. William Mack Dunkin of Lexington Park, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Swann Dunkin Jr., and his sister, Marian Sue Dunkin. The funeral was held Friday, Aug. 10, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home Inc. in Dunlap handled the arrangements.
