OWENS , CHARLES MICHAEL age 53, died unexpectedly Monday, September 5, 2005 while vacationing at Jeckyl Island. Mike was a member of Olivet Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a longtime Knoxville painting contractor. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, John & Kate Owens, Bill & Ruby Crawford nephew, Cory Tyler Coile and cousins, Bobby, Steve, and Matthew Orem. Mike was a dedicated husband and father to his surviving wife, Robin Owens his children, Michael Chase Owens, Brittany Caroline Sherwood, and Jeffery Glenn Sherwood grandson, Damien Nathaniel Sherwood parents, Charles and Louise Owens brothers, Tony Owens and wife, Brenda of Knoxville , and Darryl Owens and wife, Sheila of Williamsburg, KY sisters, Linda Coleman and Beverly Coile and husband, Mark all of Knoxville and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Friday for an 11:30 a.m. interment service with Military Honors by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
