RICKY LYNN RAINWATER, age 50, of White Pine, TN passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 20, 2008 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a graduate of Jefferson County High School and was a former employee of the Jefferson County Highway Department, a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp, and was an avid sports fan. Preceded in death by father and mother, Warren "Dude" and Ruby Mason Rainwater. Survived by brothers, Rodney (Wanda) Rainwater and David Rainwater, all of Dandridge; sister, Susan (Ricky) Ramsey of Cosby; special nieces, Jessica Nease of Newport, Brandi and Ashley Zimmerman, both of Talbott; special uncle, Curt Mason and special aunt, Edna Caton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lawson's Chapel UMC, 3241 Proffitt Heights Circle, Dandridge, Tn 37725. Graveside memorial services will be Monday, December 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawson's Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Denny Ford and Rev. Michael Ladd officiating, followed by military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.

Two killed in Friday crash
Two Jefferson County men were killed and three other people injured in a three-vehicle accident Friday night at the intersection of Highway 25/70 and Airpark Road, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
According to a report filed by Trooper John Woods, Wayne Wise, 48, of Dandridge and Ricky Rainwater, 50, of White Pine were killed as a result of injuries received in the 9:40 p.m. accident.
Wise was reportedly driving west on Highway 25/70 in a 2007 Mercury when he attempted to pass a 1995 Geo driven by Richard Larsen, 19, of Jefferson City. The Mercury then collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Joseph C. Sneed, 42, of Dandridge.
Ricky Rainwater and 48-year-old David Rainwater, who was injured and also of White Pine, were passengers in the Mercury.
Joseph Sneed and passenger Pamela Sneed, 45, also of Dandridge, were both injured while a juvenile passenger in their Chevrolet was reportedly unharmed.
Larsen, Brittney Rice, 19 of Dandridge, and an unidentified juvenile passenger in the Geo were all uninjured, as well.
Reportedly, all parties in the accident were wearing seatbelts.
