She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rev. W.T. Carey; son, Frank H. Carey; father, Vivian P. Johnson; mother, Margaret Ellis Johnson; brothers, Maynard Lee, Josie Ray, and Laymon Hill. Jennie is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Helena Carey, of Knoxville; brothers, William E. Johnson and wife Lucille, of Knoxville, Doyle Lynn Johnson and wife Sue, of Knoxville; granddaughter, Rebecca Jane Carey, of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Jane Carey, of Clinton; brother-in-law, Floyd Carey; sister-in-law, June Maples, both of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; special friend and devoted caregiver, Jewell Pressnell. The family wishes to thank LeeAnn, Rachel, Stacey and all the nursing staff at NHC, as well as Dr. Gillespie for all their kindness. Funeral Service Sunday 4:00 pm Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Bruce Galyon officiating. Family and friends will gather at Greenwood Cemetery on Monday at 9:45 am for an 10:00 am interment service. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 201 3rd Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
