DUNSMORE, BILLY LAVARR - age 73 of Corryton, born January 1, 1935, went to be with the Lord December 10, 2008. He had a deep love for his wife of 53 years, Bobbie Ann, his family and friends and a deeper love for his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. He was an original member of the Dunsmore Family singers and a faithful minister of the gospel, serving as pastor of both Hardys Creek Baptist Church and Lone Branch Baptist Church, both in Lee County, VA. He also served as interim pastor of several churches and pastoral counselor to many who sought biblical wisdom. He was a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and Lincoln Memorial University. He retired as a building contractor and an educator within the Lee County school system. He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Beatrice (Simmons) Dunsmore. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Ann Dunsmore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mitzi and Don James of Louisville, KY & Linda and Ray Woodie of Glasgow, KY; one sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Wayne Neely of Knoxville; one brother and sister-in-law, Dayne and Gale Dunsmore of Knoxville; Three grandsons, Jordan Woodie and wife Larissa, Samuel James, Jenson Woodie; two granddaughters, Corrie Ann James and Rebecca James; two great grandchildren, Eleanor and Hudson Woodie. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Service 8 pm, Friday, Mynatt Funeral Home- Halls chapel with Rev. Carl Simmons, Rev. Kevin Roberts and Rev. Dallas Harrell officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery at 1:45 pm for interment services at 2 pm.
