Herman Lee Robertson , 82, of Reedley died Saturday. He was a retired water department supervisor for the city of Reedley. Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Full Gospel Tabernacle. Arrangements: Cairns Funeral Home.

Herman Lee Robertson, longtime Reedley resident, passed away on Saturday November 10, 2012 at the age of 82. Herman was born in Seminole Oklahoma and was raised in Hugo Oklahoma. In 1947, his family made their way to California and settled in the Sultana area. Herman worked for Calendars Farming and then Hamilton farming before accepting a job for the City of Reedley. Herman began work for the City of Reedley as a street sweeper and was eventually promoted to the Public Works Foreman position and then served as the Water Department Supervisor. He worked for the City of Reedley for 33 years.
After retiring from the City, Herman worked as a volunteer for the Reedley Police Department for nearly 10 years. Herman was also a member of the Reedley Sunrise Kiwanis and Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. In his younger years, Herman enjoyed his horses and working cattle in the mountains for Hamilton Farming. He also enjoyed team roping and working at the Reedley Youth Ranch. In his later years he enjoyed traveling and camping and especially loved playing dominoes with friends and relatives.
Herman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Fast Robertson, and his three sons, Dale Robertson of Reedley, Ron Robertson and wife Terri of Roseville, and Russ Robertson and wife Jaime of Reedley. He is also survived by one sister, Tressie Downing and husband Dan of Visalia, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Reedley Full Gospel Tabernacle on Thursday, November 15, 2012, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside service to immediately follow at Reedley Cemetery.
