Rina Faris Johnson, Sr., age 90, formerly of Maryville, TN, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, at a local health care facility in Cleveland, TN. He moved into his mansion prepared by Jesus' own hands. Born May 5, 1917, to farmers in Sharp's Chapel, TN. He was employed with ALCOA for 35 years and a member of the 25 Year Club. He served in the 1st Marine Corps Division during World War II in the South Pacific, and was one of the first Marines to land on Okinawa. He was a member of Brantley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Maryville, TN. While living in Cleveland, TN he attended Philippi Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: Parents, James & Thelma Johnson of Sharp's Chapel, TN; Brothers, Raymond & Winfred Johnson; Sister, Mildred Johnson; Daughter-in-in, Wanda Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 ½ years, Hazel Cadle Johnson of Cleveland, TN; Son, Rina F. Johnson Jr. of Morristown, TN; Daughter & Son-in-law, Jennifer & Steve Weber of Cleveland, TN; Sister, Edna Johnson Cadle of Maryville, TN; Four grandsons, Todd, Keith, Scott Johnson and Mark Whitaker; Seven Great-Grandsons; Three Great-Granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Chester Hembree and Rev. Lawrence Adams officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Brantley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his beloved grandsons. Memorials may be made to: Brantley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Smith Trinity Chapel.
