CUNNINGHAM, MICHAEL (MIKE), SR. - age 48, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 20, 2001, in Charleston, S.C. He was an employee of World Airways and was a retired Senior Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. He received the Bronze Star in the Grenada Conflict, and various other accommodations. Preceded in death by father, S. Edward Cunningham. Survived by son, Michael E. Cunningham, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Russell Barker of Kentucky; mother, Florine Cunningham; brothers, Gerald Steven and Gregory E. and favorite sister-in-law, Sherry, and Brian Scott Cunningham, all of Knoxville; nephews, Tyler and Jacob Cunningham, and many friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday, Mynatt's Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery for interment. Military Honors will be provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mynatt's.
