Betty Myers Sullivan age 93 of Townsend passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the family home. Betty was retired owner of Townsend Shopping Center. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and a seamstress. Betty was a great mother and was always very supportive of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Joe Houk Myers; sisters, Sue Handley and Jean Moser; brother, Edison Myers; son-in-law, David Payne; grandson, Martin Payne; great grandson, Mathew Perkins. Survivors include her children, Helen and Huette Perkins of Townsend, Judith Payne of Hendersonville, TN, and Jerry and Jean Sullivan of Townsend; grandchildren, Amy Kane (Earl) of Galitan, TN, David Perkins of Kodak, Doug Perkins (Tammy) of Friendsville, Mary Burris of Townsend, John Sullivan (Tanya) of WI, Jason (Melissa) of Lenoir City, Jeffrey (Brittany) of Clinton, Joseph (Mia) of Nashville; great grandchildren, Ian Kane, Stormy Daily and Clauida Ray, Brady and Keaton Sullivan, Cayden and Jayden Sullivan, Daniel Burris, Michael Perkins, and Leah Sloan; great –great grandson, Liam Sloan; sister, Golden Vananda; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Ann and Christie with Blount Memorial Hospice and Home health. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Richard Rudesill officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000
