Bernadine L. Cox Sutton, age 81, of Newport, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and retired from Electro Voice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Sutton; parents, Earnest and Clara Cox; brothers, Ralph and Leonard Cox; sister, Evelyn Cox. She is survived by her children, Linda Southerland and husband, Danny, Sandy Sutton, Carol Mason and husband Dwayne, Bobby Sutton; special nephew, Mike Cox; grandchildren, Scott Kelley and wife, Linda, Casey Kelley and wife, Amie, Anthony Mason and wife, Julie, Rodney Mason, Tim Southerland and wife, Shawna; great grandchildren, Chance Kelley, Erin Kelley, Leah Kelley, Nate Mason, and Taylor Southerland; brother, Lawrence Cox; special friends, June Woods, Nila Fraley, Melvina Blackwell and Carolyn Helms. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Monday, November 10, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rick Spell and Marta Cogburn officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
