WELCH, PEARL - age 90, passed to her eternal home in heaven on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Mercy Residential Hospice. Pearl resided at Parkview Independent Living in Fountain City. She was born February 19, 1921 in Grainger County, Tennessee to the late Edward and Dorothy Noe. She was a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Circle. She retired from Standard Knitting Mills with over forty years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Welch; her parents; brothers, Verlin, Robert, Lonnie, Lester, and Edward Jr. Noe; sisters, Beulah Noe, Bessie Beeler, and Lennie Sharp; sister in law, Irene Noe; brother in law, Fraley Beeler. She is survived by her sister, Mattie Lee Stone of Knoxville; sister in law, Nell Noe of Maryville, Tennessee, Kil Chung Noe of Anchorage, Alaska; brother in law, William F. Sharp of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special nieces and caregivers, Lori Long, Lisa Sharp, and Mary Lynn Norton, all of Knoxville. A sincere thank you to Dr. Robert Alley and staff and to the nurses at Mercy Hospice and special caregiver and friend, Mary Ross Caudill for the compassionate care given to her during her illness. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel with Reverend Toby Everett officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers. Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
