He retired from ALCOA with 44 years of service and was a member of their 25-Year Club. Preceded in death by sisters, Mattie Myers and Edith Myers; brothers, Clyde, D.S. and Carson Gilbert . Survivors include wife of 52 years, Kena Gilbert ; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Tom Moore and Margie and Leon Downey, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Alisa, Doug, and Scott Moore, and Gilbert and Brett Downey; sisters-in-law, Bennette Gillespie of Maryville, and Arta Callahan of Seymour. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2002, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Bob Lawson and Rev. Mike Kessler officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2002, at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
