Wesley Meredith (Petey) Linkes, age 43 of Newport went to be with the Lord Tuesday November 8, 2005 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha McGaha Linkes; his long time love, Eliza Coggins; aunt, Nancy Williamson; and uncle, John R. McGaha.
Wesley is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha and Brandon Henry of Parrottsville and Wendy and Ethan Reno of Cosby; father, Jimmy Rogers Linkes; sisters, Ollie Black and her husband, Rickey of Hartford and Debbie Percel of Cleveland, OH; brother, Michael Jones and his wife, Betty of Hartford; grandchildren, Preston Reno, Elijah Henry and Brett Coggins, and special daughters, Sonya and Elaina Coggins.
Mr. Linkes will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday November 11, 2005 at 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Willis and Rev. Danny Greene officiating.
Graveside service will be Saturday morning November 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Blacks Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening November 11, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
