JAMES THOMAS - age 88, of Tazewell, Tn. was born Feb. 3, 1922, passed away on June 20, 2010 at his home. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was ordained as a Baptist minister, July, 1972. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lennie Edds; wife, Josephine Edds; daughter, Shirley F. Buchanan and sister, Ruth Redmon. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Grace Edds; son and wife, Charles and Judy Edds; Bob and Brenda Edds all of Tazewell, TN; son-in-law, Hubert Buchanan, Jr. of New Tazewell; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother, John Edds of Powell, TN; sister, Wanda Sue Perry of New Tazewell, TN; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm, Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN. Funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
