Edds, Mae White, age 84, of Powell, died peacefully October 15, 2008, following a 9 year struggle with Alzheimer’s. She began work with Department of Energy in Oak Ridge in 1944 and retired in 1980, and later was active with the VITA tax preparation assistance program for 17 years. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church Sunday School.
Survivors
Mae is survived by her: husband of 58 years, John E. Edds; son and daughter-in-law, David G. and Pamela Edds; grandchildren, Daniel T. Edds, Miranda B. Edds, Kristen E. Edds; sister, Anne Grissom; brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Francis White; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Grace Edds, Ted and Ruth Redmon, and Sue Perry; many beloved nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The family wishes to thank the loving staff of Windwood Golden Living Center and Adventa Hospice Services for their special, loving care during these past 17 months.
Service
Family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Friday, 5-7 pm. Funeral, officiated by Rev. Kent Williams, at 7 pm. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home 9:30 am, Saturday, for 10 am graveside services in Lynnhurst Cemetery, Rev. Randy Macon officiating.
