LUSBY, RICHARD ARTHUR - age 62 of Straw Plains, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 after a 4 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was a member of Thorn Grove Baptist Church. He would extend to you an invitation to know the Lord as your personal Lord and Savior as he did. His greatest wish in death is that all would be saved and live forever with him in Heaven, so that none be left behind. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buford A. and Grace Mays Lusby and sister, Martha Winstead. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Claudia Lusby three sons, Rick Lusby and wife, Kim, Bryan Lusby and wife, Amy and Josh Lusby daughter, Stephanie Helton and husband, Lance three wonderful grandchildren, Nichole Lusby, Landon Helton and Cooper Lusby two brothers, Carl Lusby and wife, Carolyn and Don Lusby and wife, Sandy three sisters, Mary Moody, Gloria Beal and special friend, Tommy Davidson and Patricia Simmons and husband, Kyle. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Thorn Grove Baptist Church, funeral service to be at 8 p.m. with Pastor Tim Tatum and Dr. Ted Padgett officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. at Asbury Cemetery for interment. Pallbearers are Dave Sexton, Darryl Haun, Mark Underwood, Sammy Hodges, Kyle Simmons, Rick Webster, Paul Bell and Abby Maynard. Honorary pallbearers are the Men's Victory Sunday school class, Vaughn Williams, Gordon Oglesby and Tommy Davidson. Special thanks to Dr. John Dougherty and Staff, Dr. Jeffrey Drinnen and staff, Shirley Kimsey and UT Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory to the Alzheimer's Association, ET Chapter, 2200 Sutherland Ave. Suite H-102, Knoxville, Tenn. 37919. Evergreen Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
