LUSBY, GRACE LEONA MAYS age 92, of Knoxville, born May 20, 1912, died 3:30 a.m. Sunday, October 10, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by: her husband, Buford A. Lusby daughter, Martha Winstead great-granddaughter, Jennifer Huettel son-in-law, Jerry Moody mother and father, William and Elizabeth Houk Mays sister, Cora Armstrong and brothers, Harold, Clyde, and Albert Mays. Survivors: children, Carl and wife Carolyn Lusby, Mary Moody, Richard and wife Claudia Lusby, Gloria Beal and friend Tommy Davidson, Donny and wife Sandy Lusby, Patricia and husband Kyle Simmons granddaughters, June Wilson, Kim Huettel, Karen Hollifield, Pam Steadmon, Stephanie Helton, Amanda Huffaker, and Kristi Martin grandsons, Kent, Rick, Bryan, David and Josh Lusby, Tony Arms, Mike Rimmer, Gary Beal, and Kevin Simmons 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren brother, Earl Mays sisters, Edith Miller and Wanda Edmondson several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Kim Isley and Rev. Sherman Starling officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A special thanks to Mary Vest, friend and caregiver and to Hillcrest North Staff and caregivers for their devoted and loving care of our Mother for the last 3 years. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the Local Alzheimer's Chapter, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville TN., 37919, in honor of our Wonderful Mother Grace Lusby. Family will receive friends 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
