U.S. Veteran Mr. Dolphas Beacher Hale, age 68, of Newport, passed away July 15, 2010, at Lakeway Hospital of Morristown. He was retired from Sonoco Products, Newport and was of the Baptist faith also a veteran of the U S Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphas and Jeanetta Hale; and daughter, Melissa Hale Brooks; sister, Tammy Hale; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Blaine and Myrtle Conard; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wilburn. He is survived by his granddaughter, Alexandria “Alex” Brooks and her fiance' Brandon Welch; special companion of many years, Jane Seay and daughter, Tracy Seay O’Lear and husband Jim; brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Karen Hale of Parrottsville; sisters, Lodema Wilburn, Kathy Self and husband Mike, of Parrottsville, Faye Haney, Edith “Poke” Fine and husband Dorsey of Newport, Dona “Cricket” Russell, Marie Widner and husband Gene of New Market, Dorothy Wilson and husband, Dwight of Bean Station; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Glen Ball and Rev. Willis Miller officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, July 20, 2010 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
