SIMMONS, ARCHIE NEAL - age 83 of Knoxville passed away Sunday October 5, 2008. He was a member of Milan Baptist Church and the Bible Sunday School Class. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force in 1964 after 22 years service. He also retired from the University of Tennessee Purchasing Dept. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Imogene B. Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Michael N. and Holly Simmons; grandsons, Matthew N. and his wife Sherri Simmons, United States Marine Sergeant Andrew T. Simmons, United State Air Force E3 Daniel R. Simmons; sister, Pauline Dunlap; and sister-in-law, Alma Fay Simmons; several nieces and nephews and devoted nephew, Daniel Butler. "The family would like to thank the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living of Halls and also the staff of St Mary's Medical Center for all their care and support." The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at Milan Baptist Church with Funeral Service at 7:30 P.M. with Rev. Michael Viles II officiating. Family and Friends will meet at the West Adair Entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery 9:15 A.M. Thursday for Interment at 9:30 A.M. with Full Military Honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
