U.S. Veteran Bobby Suggs , age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a faithful member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. His loves in life were God, his church, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents Anderson D. Suggs, and Georgia Maloy Suggs; brother and sister in law, Billy Dale Suggs and Betty C. Suggs; mother in law and father in law Blanche F. Hawk and John A. Hawk. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Treva Hawk Suggs; daughter and son in law Karen Suggs Massey and Rae Edward Massey; grandchildren Shanan Rae Massey-Holt and Chad Trevor Holt, and Beau Johnathon Massey and Elise Collier Massey; great-grandchildren Jonathon Rae Massey-Holt and Maddox Connor Holt. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Friday , Oct. 3, 2008, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Craig Ward officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
