BUSHNELL, Helen Lantz, 58, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 10, 2001. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles A. Bushnell, Jr.; her daughter, Tonie Leigh Craig; her parents, Anna K. Lantz and Herbert G. Lantz, Sr.; and brothers, Beverly J. Lantz, Herbert G. Lantz, Jr. (Buddy), and Denton H. Lantz. Helen was very active in her church and community. She served as a Cub Scout leader and volunteered for the Children of the Baptist Children's Home for many years. Most recently, she devoted herself to helping with the Central Baptist Nicaragua Missions. Her generosity knew no bounds, she gave freely of her time and resources. Her talent was to always think of others. She will be greatly missed by her sons and their wives, Marty and Donna Etzler, and Kenneth and Jennifer Etzler, all of Roanoke; stepsons, Darren Craig and wife, Katie Craig, of Thaxton, and Charles Bushnell, III, Roanoke; granddaughters, Lindsey and Savannah Etzler, Roanoke; grandsons, Jacob Muce, Gavin and Chase Etzler, all of Roanoke; father and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. and Nellie Bushnell, Roanoke; brother and his wife, Richard W. and Anita Lantz, Roanoke; sisters, Betty J. Nevills, Blue Ridge, and Judy A. Pruitt, Vinton; stepmother, Elizabeth Lantz, Roanoke; special niece and caregiver, Karen Garrett, Roanoke; special friends, Patricia Nichols, Vinton, and Martin and Jessie Etzler, Wirtz; a special cousin, Joyce Miller, Roanoke; special in-laws, Jerry and Tonya Bushnell, Maryville, Tenn., Bonnie Hall, Roanoke, Shelby and Bill Bass, Alaska; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Flowers will be appreciated, but those who prefer to make memorials, please consider The Nicaragua Missions (for feeding hungry children), Central Baptist Church, 5656 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Va. 24014. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001, from Central Baptist Church, Starkey Road. Pastor Clayton C. Riggs will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
