Mary Elizabeth Hood Thomas , 53, of Maryville, passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Elmer Thomas ; and father, Max Ray Hood . She was a medical assistant for East Tennessee Medical Group and Thompson and Calvert. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Nathan Long; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky Thomas , Jonathan and Renee Walker, and Kevin Thomas ; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; mother. Mary Ann Helton Hood ; brother, Max Hood ; and sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Jerry Justice. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at River of Life Church: 123 West Broadway Ave., Maryville, TN 37801 with Rev. Kevin Thomas and Rev. Robert Connatser officiating.
